TDK 16x 10x 40x

I just purchased a TDK velocd 16x R, 10x RW, 40x Data Read, ATAPI/E-IDE CD-RW Drive and I am impressed. I was a little concerned but installation went without a hitch. It is speced as Burn-Prood. The software is not as easy to use as Adaptec but then Adaptec is not that obvious to use either. I burned one CD-R disk and set it at 16x and it was fast. I hadn't really read much about TDK before but it looks good so far.

Awesome......would you say that this is better than the Yamaha 16/10/40? I know that it burns at 15.67x and not full 16, the 10x write is only in one mode capbable (8x), 10x in the mode that nobody uses, and ultra fast 40x ripping. 8 meg buffer.....but not burn-proof. How much and where u get it? I need one before college break is over. ...Also heard something about Sayno or sony (forgot which) is coming with a 20x cdr...but i dunno when.

Also.....does it support copying most or all cd protected thingies?
