Hello,

My USB 3.0 on my motherboard is only transferring at an average rate of 10mb/s. I have an Asus P8Z77-V deluxe. Is the reason for the slow transfer speed due to a hardware issue on my motherboard, something to do with my installed drivers (I installed the lastest drivers and the speed didn't change) or neither? (if so what is it?).

Here are my Computer Specs anyway just incase.

Processor:Intel i52500k running at 3.30GHz clock speed
Video/Graphics card:Radeon HD 7800
RAM: 8gigs
OS: Win7 service pack 1

Thanks.

This is not a uncommon problem, the reason you are having a slow transfer rate may have nothing to do with the USB transfer rate, but to do with the speed of your hard drive (which you did not specify) Your hard drive is not only transferring data to the USB but is also possibly at the same time indexing, virus checking, running background services and programs etc The files that you are transferring maybe fragmented or scattered over the hard disk. It is no wonder that your transfer rate is only 10MB/s The solution is to find out what disk activity is going on in the background and stopping it or get a SSD.
