Have just tried to connect my new 300d but my software requires firewire,
The cable supplied appears to be usb, Perhaps 4 pin to 6pin? Is it poss to
get an adapter or new lead, If I am missing something obvious I am a newbee,
Cheers.

The 300D is USB. Any software should use either interface.

Hi there.

Don't quite understand what you mean my "my software requires Firewire".
Does your computer have USB?

If it does, and it is a PC, then all you have to do is connect the Camera by
the USB cable - switch the camera on - go to my Computer, and you should see
a new Drive, which will be your camera.

Just Click through the contained folders, on that drive, until you see your
picture files, then Copy them to your Hard Drive.
