But what model?
The idea is that the PSU has 2 PCIe 8P connectors and the cables should be provided in the same package.
But I can't make what you are holding in the 1st picture. It seems to be an extender. You (obviously) need a similar cable but with the same connector on both sides.

I wouldn't say stolen, thats harsh lol, inadvertantly retained sounds sweeter to the guy your complaining to (and doesn't piss him off :p)
the ones you want for your card are the 6pin pcie cables if I've read your original post right, it also came with two 6+2pin cables, either would work you just leave the +2 plug off if you only need 6pins
take the card down to the shop when you go, so he at least knows what is getting plugged in and be nice,

I can plug one 6 pin cable in but it wont power it up. So if i put both 6 pin cables in the adapter then that will serve as a 8 pin connector. But im still left with out the other 6 pin i need.

I think the GTX 580 needs one 6 pin and one 8 pin to power it..

I think thats right.

I will take the PC to the shop that installed the PSU. but if their dont have the cables that were took out of the PSU then do you think and its not possible for them to replace the cables will i have to buy a whole new PSU?

you may get lucky and find something online, ebay etc, but I can't find anything, I'd say the shop will have either your cables or something that will fit
most shops have a bin of cables etc, I know I have a lot of adaptors etc from old builds
but a new psu would be last option imo
