You can use that CPU, but you can't run the graphics slot in PCI 3 mode with it. To use PCI 3 mode, you'll need a third generation i5 or i7 CPU. With the cpu you specified, the slot will run in PCI 2 mode.

abekl is right, unless you are looking for a higher overclock, stick with the newer generation 3770k if you want your gpu to run at its full capability.

^Also keep in mind, the only reason you'd want a higher overclock is to get a high number to brag about to noobs; Ivy Bridge doesn't overclock quite as high, but it runs slightly faster, so it's a wash - meaning in most cases you should go with the chip that has more features, which would be an Ivy Bridge.

For non-k edition processor, you dont need to use z77 mobo. Use H77 mobo instead. And there will be not much different between pcie 3.0 and 2.0. You should be fine.

You want to say that i can run in the pcie 3.0 slot but in 2.0 mode. Because this Gpu has only 3.0 slots.
Answer please!
Thanks for answer!

Your gpu will run on any brand mobo fine. If you personally like msi then buy it.

But your cpu doesn't support pcie 3.0, but 2.0. So it will run as 2.0 mode. But you will not see much difference from pcie 3.0
