Objectives:
Ive been grabbing pieces and parts for a new build. I want to run some FPS shooters and not have to worry about an upgrade for some time. I also play Wow and have an older setup that works pretty well right now but it just outdated. I have a 24inch in windowed mode for wow that works exceptionally.
Current setup:
I have two monitors right now one is : Dell1280x1024 and another SAMSUNG 245BW1920x1200.
P4 duo with 8g ram and 9800gtx video card
New Build (so far):
Antec Performance One P180 Silver cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
2g 7200RPM drive
Windows 7 ulti
Inclination for build:
Intel Core i7 2600K LGA With built-in visual capabilities and 8 MB L3 cache (I wont be overclocking but I dont want to have to upgrade this sucker for a while)
Im not sure about the MB or Ram. (Although the RAM looks like it has come down in price a lot)
Thoughts and considerations:
Ive been looking at the GTX 570 and getting a beefier PSU to run SLI in a couple months when the price drops. But I came across this little gem: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1461/19/
So that leads me to believe that all of the NVIDA cards dont like multi monitor with different resolution setups. Anyone know of another supplier that the cards dont overheat with multi monitors?
I am also going to be getting a switch so I can run my old system at the same time and switch on the fly. (I found this and it appears to work well with a two monitor system: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817399097 also http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=501571#
Any suggestions are welcomed. I would like to limit my build to $1500 or so.
