Asus P9X79 Deluxe Wifi issues

Hi,

I have an P9X79 Deluxe which I purchased in part due to the semi-integrated Wifi option, however it is creating a headache for me.

On my laptop my dl/up speed is 22/16, on the desktop with the above motherboard I only get 2/0.15. The latter having a signal strength of 96%. It does only see and connect to the 11n network.

Do anyone know what the issue might be and perhaps how to fix it?

I found that, but I do not have it installed. Running windows 7 if that matters.

I found that even though the households ipads, imac, macbook pro and w7 laptop had perfect speeds with the WNDR3700 router, the desktop with the integrated Atheros AR9002WB-1NG WIFI adapter would struggle.

After changing just about every setting there was on my router I found one that the desktop could comprehend using WPA2+Personal in an AES encryption maxed the download speed and increased the upload, though the latter is still 'missing' ten or so MBPS I'm going to leave it be unless someone in here have any further tips.
