I recently acquired an HP Pavilion a305w and reformatted it, added 512 more memory and some software programs. When it would lock up due to KVM switch problems I would have to unplug the power to get it to shut off. Then when I plug it back into the power it would sometimes come on immediately, other times I would have to press the ON button, yet other times it would not come on at all until I played with plugging and un-plugging the power. At times I would simply wait for a while, and pressing the ON button would start it up.
