Monitor is not being detected!

So i just built a new comp and got it up and running. For some reason though my monitor will not be recognized unless the comp is turned on first and then the monitor following it. The problem is that when I'm trying to install all my drivers every time the system reboots the monitor loses the signal again and then I can't see what I'm doing. I've tried unplugging it from everything and then plugging it back in and it still won't work. I temporarily fixed it by putting a smaller monitor in its place that works just fine but its not as nice as the one that doesn't work properly so I'd like to find a fix for it.

The only thing I can think of that might be somehow causing this is that since I don't have a graphics card yet, I'm using the CPU. Perhaps the CPU can't handle a display that big??

If you need any more information ask and I'll get back to you quickly

Any help would be great!

Please post your system and display specifications.

Make and model of the problem monitor, CPU and motherboard would help.
