Simple upgrade question

Hi there,

Im attempting to upgrade my CPU from an Intel Pentium E5800 to a Core 2 Quad 2.83 GHz.

Will I need to perform a BIOS upgrade for this transition???

MOBO

ASUS P5G41T-M LX2

Memory

4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
Configuration 1 x 4GB
Expandable to 8GB
2 x DIMM slot

Hard Drive

doesn't look like you need to update, but you can do it anyway and not have to worry about it

the answer is no, the 9550 is supported since version 3, the e5800 only got support since version 7, which is later, all you need to do is swap it in and enjoy the quad

Think you were looking at the LX, not the LX2. I did the same thing at first. Advice is still valid though, no update should be necessary.
