Probably simple but basically can I use a sound card that is PCIE 1 in a PCIE 4 slot.
I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe v2 x58 mobo and I have a PCIE slot that is designated as PCIEX4_1.
I currently have on board sound but recently was given some sweet adobe cs6 audition software and would like to insert a card so that I can work my software hard. It is capable of 5 track recording and saves in wave PCM format. Sooo if I were to buy a PCIE 1 card could I use it in that PCIE 4 slot? Just want to make sure I don't mess anything up.
