External TV Tuner and IR blaster.

Trying to set up my external TV tuner with my set top box in WMC. It will find the signal and show me a preview of the channel that is currently on my box. When I go to the next step it says no IR cable detected. Do I just need to buy an IR Blaster to get it to work?

I am pretty sure the Hauppauge HVR-950q has a built in IR receiver, so all I would need is an IR cable for my set top box?
