Gold Speckle Fell off CPU

Heyyyy,, I have a i72600k and one of the gold speckle things fell off of the bottom, is that the pin or just the thing protecting the pin?

The computer works fine, should I still get a new CPU?

It would have been nice to have a picture but the only "gold speckle" think on the bottom of a CPU chip are the pins. I would try some CPU stress tests like prime95 to see if you have the full capabilities of your CPU otherwise return it if it was originally defective.

i once took 4 pins off an am2 chip and still had full functionality
