Hello,

Need to upgrade my 2004 AMD 2700 machine so I can edit HD videos. Don't do it for a living but do a couple times a month. I'm looking at a Phenom II X4 925 or 960T and a ASUS non-raid motherboard with onboard video, preferablly with 4 memory slots. I currently have a 300w power supply and was hoping I didn't need to add to the cost getting a different one if I'm using 1 maybe 2 hard drives.

Will the 300w power supply be ok with this and can I use the SATA power cable adapters for a SATA hard drive?

Any ideas on a stable ASUS motherboard for this? I've had ASUS mb's for awhile and had good luck with them.

Any comments on the Phenom 925 vs 960T relating to video editing as well as the onboard video, Radeon or Gforce?

Thanks

there are psu wattage calculaters out there. Try newegg. You fill in the blanks and it tells you an estimated total wattage you will need to run your rig. I suggest bumping up a bit. Say it gives 377 watts, bump to at least 420 or 450 watts. A little headroom. And if you are going to install newer gpu consider 500 or 550 at least.
