CRYSIS 2 black screen

Today i installed Crysis 2 the patch went well everything looked fine but when i started the game it showed the green curser and nothing but a black screen. It ran the sounds (sounded like the menu) but it didn't show any picture. is there anything i can do before bothering with origin.

Note: all my games start off in 800 x 600 res. I have to tweak the settings on all my games to 1080p is this bad (same thing with Crysis)

XFX PRO PSU 850w
Acer 23" 1080p monitor

I've heard of this happening with a non legit copy but not a legal one and you do have a legal copy don't you?

yah you know what im going to reinstall it off of origin

got it off of origin and it worked. guess i have to send the disk back to gamestop.
