I can share files ect.. but not connect to the web with the client computer. I have ran the wizard, forced IP address'. The client comp says that there is an Internet Gateway. The host comp has 2 nics. The cable modem connects to one and the client comp to the other. Both comps can "see" each other and view files. Im a complete blank about any other ideas. Have went through the steps on the network trouble shooter. Any ideas??

You need to set up Internet Connection Sharing on the computer hooked up to the internet.

I haven't done this in about 5 years, so I can't really give you any more information than that....

Make sure the computer w/ the internet connection is set as the default gateway on the other machine. Go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /all see what your default gateway is. If it is a different IP from your computer w/ the internet connection that is ur prob. Usually ICS will give the gateway machine an ip of 192.168.0.1.

yep, did that too. I forced the IP address for both the gateway and the nic for the client. The client comp shows a conection to the internet gateway, but can not ping or browse.

It looks like the problem is with the Zone Alarm fire wall. I thought I had configured it corectly, but i guess i didn't. When its turned off it the internet conection on the client computer works great. If i turn it on then thats when I have problems. I have placed the IP address in the known conections zone. That was the only thing i could think of to get it to work. Any ideas??

ahh... that makes sense. Software firewalls have a habit of doing that.
One of many reasons I hate them and dont use them... lol
It will firewall all of your network adaptors by default. That firewall isn't going to let network requests through from your other machine. If you can completely disable the firewall on your local lan adaptor and on your other machine (if it has one).
