New Build - Unsure of a few things and would appreciate help

Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully help me out

Approximate Purchase Date: Within a month max, but sooner the better.

Budget Range: $1400.00AUD but flexible if its worth it.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (anything and everything, BF3 to give you an idea), productivity, internet.

Parts Not Required: Speakers. I have a 1440x900 screen but i plan using it as a secondary screen in a dual screen set up.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: http://www.msy.com.au/default.jsp?category=21&page=2 (http://msy.com.au/) or www.umart.com.au/ MSY is better priced in my experience

Country of Origin: Australia

Parts Preferences: Not fussed

Overclocking: maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Possibly in the future but i generally prefer a single powerful card than 2 average cards

Monitor Resolution:
as per above i have a 1440x900 and based on my research thus far 1920x1080 seems to be the likely candidate for my primary screen

Additional Comments:
see below:

Ive done some research and have come up with a preliminary build (or part of), ignore the fact that some of the stuff is out of stock on the website.

As is obvious im still unsure as to what PSU, MOBO and Monitor (something around 23-24inch and $170.00) to for and im on the fence about the GPU as well.

So please review, criticize, and let me know what you think.

EDIT: I plan to only game on the primary screen and not "stretch" it across both

More about build unsure things help
  1. Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-900 900W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V v2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

ASUS VS248H-P Black 24" 2ms HDMI LED Backlight Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 ASCR 50,000,000:1

EVGA 025-P3-1579-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) HD 2560MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

I know the MB might be a little on the expensive side but everything plugs into it and I guess I just don't believe in going the cheap route on it. The power supply will do you for now and for sli/crossfire in the future.
  2. Thanks for the response, heres my thoughts.

    - PSU > I can agree with you on that although suppose i dont intend on going xfire/SLIing GPUs could i go for something else?

    - MOBO > I like you dont beleive in cheaping out on anything however it seems a little excessive, is there something a bit more mid range? Also consider the comments for PSU above.

    - Monitor > Seems ok although i dont have my knowledge in that area

    - GPU > not sure where you got that card from? Did you see the sites i listed? those cards only come in 1280MB sizes which is why i went for the 6970 which has 2GB and has comparable performance and price to my understanding

    thanks.
