Hi,i have a Geforce GT220 , 2GB RAM DDR2 800 Mhz, and a AMD dual core processor 2.8Ghz (5400+) - Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

I want to know if buying an additional 2GB ram, will increase the gaming performance in sims 3 (i have all expansion pack except outdoor living & generation)

Because when i am playing at high resolutions settings, and when i look in task manager(in performance) my Ram has rise up to 1.75 GB ,sometimes more and the game slow down a bit.

More about : gaming performance

Yes, that would help. Just make sure it's the same model as your existing RAM.

No. Ram on the motherboard does not affect how fast the video card works nearly enough to offset a slow video card. You're much much better off bying a new video card rather than getting a new motherboard and RAM. Will cost about 1/2 and will take about 1/20th of the time to install.

Get a Radeon 5570, will be a huge speed increase and should work fine in pretty much any system.

With a 220, run it on medium, RAM won't help you too much here.

are you sure ? ,because sometime my memory rise up to 1.97 GB or more sometime and i think geting an additional 2GB would help.

Try it see what happens. More RAM can't hurt things even if you end up with a new video card eventually. All depends on your system and what's running on it. Generally, 2 gig is enough for games to load and run, look at the "recomended" specs for the game. But I do know that the 220 is not a very fast gaming card, it's not even a "gaming" card really, it's ranked towards the slow end of video cards. The lowest true recommended card is the Radeon 5570 which is ranked 142 on the full card rankings, the nvidia 220 is 302 in the rankings. Big difference between them.

Go to www.crucial.com, they have a scan you can run, will tell you what RAM you have, and how more you can put in.
