hi guys,
i wanted to know if there will be any noticeable speed up by increasing ram of my laptop.
It currently has hynix, 2GB, 1333MHz, 8x256MB ram in 1 slot (integrated in mobo, non removable), other slot is free

My daily tasks are web browsing, music, movies and some games (mostly old titles)
RAM usage at:
system bootup: 500MB
most of the time: 850-1050MB
max. ram usage: 1200MB (happens rarely)

also the intel HD graphics consumes around 750MB at max. (dynamic, as per requirement)

the laptop supports dual channel, with 1 slot currently free.

Will installing ram in the free slot boost performance noticiably?
if yes, should i upgrade by 2G or 4G ram?

thanks in advance.

Depending on your budget I would go with 4GB and yes ram always would increase the performance

the performance increase will be due to dual channel right?
my current ram is:
Northbridge Intel Sandy Bridge rev. 09
Southbridge Intel HM65 rev. 05
Memory Type DDR3
Memory Size 1954 MBytes
Channels Single
Memory Frequency 665.2 MHz (1:5)
CAS# latency (CL) 9.0
RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 9
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 9
Cycle Time (tRAS) 24
Command Rate (CR) 1T

should i buy ram with same config? or can i go for any ram out there?
