Hey everyone,

I've heard rumors but don't know if they're true, about IB being compatible with the LGA 1155 socket.

It's mostly just curiousity as i don't really have the money for any major upgrades ATM, but it could impact future decisions.

anyone have any solid evidence?

didn't find it in their roadmap, however i found a tom's article detailing specs and price points. a bit dissapointing that they will all still be quad-core instead of some hexacore CPUs. it means i might eventually go with the sandybridge-e 3930k.

yeah. i mean, quad core will be enough for gaming for the next year or two i suppose, but for people like me who do a lot of multi-threaded work (video editing here) those extra two cores are not only futureproof but they help with productivity. i don't like that intel charges a lot more for those two extra cores, but since bulldozer was a flop i guess we have no choice.
