ootable CD-ROM

Greetings,

I have an Abit BH-6 mb with the latest bios and an Aopen 40x CD-ROM drive. In the bios I have the option of booting from the CD-ROM drive but it does no work. The reason I want to be able to do this is to more easily install Linux from a bootable CD. In the bios settings, the hard drives show up but no CD-ROM drive is listed. Otherwise, everything works ok. Any ideas ?

Do other bootable CDs work? My Mandrake 7.2 CD doesn't boot in my PC either, though a Windows 98SE OEM CD boots just fine.

Try another CD. There's a possibility the problem's not with your drive.
