Bios won't detect hard and optical drives

My optical drive got broken so I took the same model of optical drive from an old PC. But the problem is BIOS now doesn't detect it and the hard drive. So when I try to boot up it gives sk boot failure error. The motherboard is gigagbyte gigabyte p31-es3g. How can I fix it?

Oh one more thing, since it was the same model I didn't change the cables is it not working because of that perhaps?
