i'm not sure how to set up a network between a winxp machine and a win2k one, so that both can access the inetrnet. on my primary winxp machine i have 2 network adaptors, one to the internet, the other to my switch. my win2k machine is connected to the switch. the two computers can see each other over the home networking, and i can play games on the two on the LAN network... but i cannot acces the internet from the win2k pc, and i have set the winxp machine to "share inetrnet conenction". are there any services/processes i need running for this because i closed most a quite while back, since i wasnt using them...

Make sure the computer w/ the internet connection is set as the default gateway on the other machine. Go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /all see what your default gateway is. If it is a different IP from your computer w/ the internet connection that is ur prob. Usually ICS will give the gateway machine an ip of 192.168.0.1.

ive set the ip of the win2k machine 168.192.0.2
my winxp machine has two ip's though... 80.108.x.x for my "internet connection", and 168.192.0.1 for my "switch connection".
on the win2k machine ive set the default gateway to 80.108.x.x
i still cant access the internet through the win2k machine.
and i dont have anything interferring with the connection, ie firewall.

You need to set the default gateway to the gateway computers local ip address. If it's ip is 168.192.0.1 set that as the default gateway on other computers.
