Hey Guys,

I was hoping I could get some input whether I should buy a gaming laptop or desktop PC. I currently have the ASUS-G73JW-A1 that I will be selling soon. I bought it for $1750

specs: 17.3 inch 16:9 1920x1080 FHD LED glossy
nVidia GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB GDDR5 VRAM DX11
i7-740QM, 1.73~2.93GHz, 6MB, 45W
8GB DDR3 1333 (2G X 4)
1TB 7200rpm SATA II (500GB X 2)
4X Blu-Ray Read/DVDRW Optical Drive

I travel once-twice during the year. I still have two more years left in College. I love to game.....
My budget is around $1500-1750 dollars.

I've never had a desktop before, but the fact that I can buy myself a big screen makes me lean toward a desktop. However, I can bring my laptop everywhere..

Can anybody recommend a particular website that puts desktops together? I sure can't put it together.

Any feedback or input would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,

Gaming laptops are very affordable ... the Clevo 150HM / 170 HM (both have 1920 x 1080 resolution) are good starting points. For a college student, a desktop can be a bit confining..... I have two sons in college with both and desktops are relatively unused.

I sure can't put it together.

If you can use a Philips Head screwdriver and read a manual, you can build a desktop. If ya need help, every campus has a computer club. This build allows a upgrade to 2nd GFX card w/o changing anything else. No bargain basement parts....,Case / PSU is supoer cool and super quiet w/ 10.0 jonnyguru performance rating. Case has inlet air filters, all fans are adjustable. MoBo has x16 x16 bandwidth on GFX lanes....twin 560 Ti's (2nd one make nice XMas present) outperform a single 580 by 40%, Cooler outperforms Hyper 212 by 7C
