Hardware reserved

Hi,

How are you today? I have a question.I have windows 7 64 bit I have a ga z77xud5h gigabyte Motherboard I have an i7 3770 processor 3.40 gig running at 3.51 Because I ran easy tune 6 I have 16 gigs of ram. Now it shows that I'm using all of my 16 gigs when I click on the system icon in the control panel, it says 16 gigs. when I go into my resource Monitor and click on the memory tab it says Hardware reserved 40mb which of course means it's using 40 mb of system memory. Now I know that this is nothing. Not a lot, but it's the principal of it. I was just wondering if there was a waywith software or whatever to be able to check to see what is using it. It says that it is using all of my memory in the bios My Memory is corsair. ddr3 dual channel If I put my Mouse over the hardware reserved it says... Memory that is used by the Bios for some drivers for other periphials. So I'm just wondering if I can maybe lower the 40 mb that it is using? Somehow

Thanks

  1. I am not really up on intel CPU's anymore but I think that one has integrated graphics so is it shut off in the bios since you are using a GT 240? If it is not shut down in the bios then some of your system ram would be reserved for the igp.
  2. Yes it is.. It is turned off in the bios.

  4. Hardware reserve memory is required for your system. Let it be. I have hardware reserve too. Its only for bios/driver.
