Hey guys, just bought the 880gm-usb3 rev 3.1 today, with a stick of 4gb ddr3 10600, along with the phenom ii x6 1100t, I have connected everything up, but I am getting no video output, I tried the onboard graphics and my gpu, but no luck. How do I make this run? It said it was am3+ ready but do I need to update my BIOS first?

I also tried another stick of ram of the same, still no luck, I hope some1 can help me, thank you for your time.

You do have to update your BIOS first, it says so on the gigabyte site, you may have thought that by now they should come with a am3+ compatible BIOS already, but it's not like that.

But when I check the compatibilty list, it shows the phenom ii x6 is just a standard am3. Is it definitly a am3+ socket :(  I wish I just bought a more expensive board, what BIOS do I download?

Also, I have just ordered a phenom ii x4 955 . That's just a standard am3 and will let me operate it without updating BIOS right? :')

Oh wait, the 1100t is infact a am3 cpu, not am3+, my bad.

There's something else holding it back, it could be momory, psu, gpu, mobo, etc. cancel your order ASAP.

Do the fans on the case spin? are there any beeps on bootup?

I have a 550watt psu, the manual says I need a 500, I tried the onboard and the graphics card, still no luck, and I did try 2 sticks of ram so it looks like it will be the CPU. Right? And the pc does a sound when it turns on, but not a alarm beep, also the fan for the CPU does spin.

could be either the motherboard or the cpu from what you describe, It's not a bad idea to get that 955 just for testing, and then returning it, if it works fine then it's the 1100t that's bad.

I did test a phenom x6 1050t yesterday, and that is my friends which he uses, still no luck, but I just realised my motherboard has a 24 pin psu port on there and I attached a 20 pin power cable to it, but now I added the extra 4 pin power to it, would that of made a difference, or will it likely be BIOS?

That's most likely it ( the 24-pin misconnection) if there aren't any factory problems that should solve it.
