Laptop Memory Concerns

I recently bought a Samsung NP550P7C. I started looking into adding or replacing the RAM to 8GB just to try and maximise the performance and I noticed something strange in CPU-Z, my DDR3 memory is clocked at 800mhz, I didn't think DDR3 even came in 800mhz variants?

So firstly, my concern is does this mean the memory in the laptop is mismatched and having to run at a lower frequency or something like that?

And my other question is what would be the fastest RAM I can replace this with, how do I know what my laptop can handle? Can it take 1600mhz memory such as this?

What would be your recommendation for the replacement if I want 8GB for a max of ~£35?

Any help would be appreciated,

DDR is double data rate. cpuz will always tell you the dram speed, which is half of the ddr. 2*800=1600MHz. Your ram is running at 1600. If you want to get another set you should try to buy the exact same thing.
