Hey guys, I know there's a lot of posts about this same topic, but I was just hoping for some basic advice in regards to the choice of components and whether I should go the extra $100.

Approximate Purchase Date: Next few weeks

Budget Range: I would prefer the build to be below $400 au, but would be willing to push to a max of $500 with postage if it meant a SIGNIFICANT advance in the specs of upgrade plausibility.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Basic gaming (We arn't talking Crysis, just Cod4 and similar for a base guess), web surfing, photoshop, office

Parts Not Required: I have an AMD Tri Core Phenom AM3 (not sure of exact model due to the fact I don't have it yet)

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: pccasegear.com, http://www.staticice.com.au/, http://www.itestate.com.au

Country of Origin: N/A

Parts Preferences: No preference

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1440x900

Additional Comments: In the way of the case I found a no name ebay one with a 620w power supply, would this be a good idea or no? (Side note, its cheap.)

On another note, I'm going away for the next 4 days, so I won't be able to reply, but I look forward to any inputs :D

Thanks for your time.

CPU: You tricore AM3
Mobo: Asus M5A78L-M LX $63
Memory: Kingston 2x2GB 1333Mhz $31
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 6770 $125
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB $63
DVD: LG 24x $20
Case: Xigmatek Asgaard Pure Black $41
PSU: Power Supply 500W SilverStone ST50F-ES $62

Total: $405

You can get a pretty nice improvement with MSI Storm Radeon HD 6850 $166 so $41 more or Sapphire Radeon 6870 $188 for $63 more.
But the 6770 should be able to run at your resolution just fine.

+1 although the 6770 should suffice for 1440x900

from the blurry ebay pic, that 620W PSU has only 27 amps on the 12v rail. I'd stay well away from it.
