Will a dedicated sound card solve speaker popping?

My asus Z77 - V Pro board with on board sound makes popping noises sometimes when the audio is off only. Not when anything is playing. I am wanting to buy a dedicated sound card in order to help this, should it?

I think there is problem with your speaker. Not with sound card. Check if there is voltage fluctuation. I had this problem too before, its not with sound card.
