Hi There! i am currently preparing to build first computer and i think i have all of the components ready to buy i am looking to buy but i am not entirely sure they are compatible.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131795&name=AMD-Motherboards

and i have picked

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808&Tpk=AMD%20Phenom%20II%20X4%20955

but i can settle for the 965 version if it turns out to be better for me
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

I know that it says that it is compatible with phenom 2 processors but some people say that it is not compatible.

So if anyone could tell me if they are fully compatible i would be most gracious

According to CPU support list on the manufacturer's website, the 955 is not supported. However, the mobo supports AM3+, and the P2X4 955BE is an AM3 CPU, so...

Before purchasing, you should contact Asus tech support to clarify.

Then can you possibly recommend a processor that is equally good under $120 it seems as though the 955BE is more hassle than it is worth?

I feel really dumb asking this but are these two CPU's the same or different because i found a motherboard that supports the HDZ955FBGM

HDZ955FBGMBOX
HDZ955FBGM

they are the exact same processor. only difference is the model number ending in "BOX" means it comes with a heatsink and fan, the other one is just the processor.
theoretically the AM3+ boards are compatible with AM3 processors. i'm not sure why the 955 would not be listed in the comparability list.
