Dell C521 wont recognise graphics card.

I have put a Dell / ATI Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB GFX Card PCI-E DR280 into my Dell Dimension c521 but it wont recognise the graphics card. The cards works well in my other dell machine? Any advice welcomed please. I have previously run a Dell/ATI card in the machine but that stopped working too.

Normally I would point out it's a problem with the drivers but this seems like a hardware problem. Did you properly seated the card into the PCIe slot? If it's completely seated then it's probably the monitor's fault. See if there's any updates to your monitor or try using a different one to see if that's the cause.

Thanks - I have checked it is seated properly and cleaned the slot too to make sure. I'm not sure it's a monitor problem as the device cannot be found by device manager under hardware? I have tried uninstalling the onboard nvidia card but this has no effect?
