I have an asrock z77 extreme 4 mobo with a 3570k.
50 percent of the time when boot cold, the internet doesn't work, it requires a few reboots in order for it to connect to the internet.
Also when i put the computer to sleep, the same things happens, no internet, reboots required.
What causes this and how can i fix it?

System Specs:
i-5 3570k
Asrock Extreme 4 z77
2x4 Gb Corsair Vengeance
Sapphire 7850 2Gb non-oc
120 OCZ Vertex 4 SSD
3Tb Hitachi HDD

If all else fails, you could install a PCIe NIC.

Does the BIOS provide Ethernet port (or LAN cable) diagnostics? If so, do they fail when the motherboard is cold and do they succeed when it's warm?

Are you 100% sure the motherboard doesn't short to the case or a mounting post when cold? It's a bit of work, but you could test it outside of the case to determine if the issue still occurs.
