I realize that is a large list of CPU's to choose from, but I'll try and help with narrowing it down.

I really don't want anything for much more than $150. This will mainly be used for gaming and will be coupled with a 6850, or a 6870 if I can save money from the CPU. I do some video editing and converting, but not a lot. I do plan on doing more gameplay footage once I get my new build though. I will be getting a Hyper 212 EVO and definitely plan on doing some good overclocking. So I'm trying to figure out which CPU will give me the best performance after overclocking. The gaming part is definitely much more important than video editing.

I've heard some of these have good overhead for OC but others have a really low ceiling. Unlocking the extra cores on the 960t would be great, bt it isn't always a guarantee.

As of now, these are the prices on Newegg
955 - $125 but sold out for now
960t - $125
970 - $140
975 - $160
1055t - $150

I'd go for the 955 and spend the difference on a decent aftermarket cooler for the CPU.

955be is discontinued now. If you can get one, then go for that. Otherwise i'd say 960t as the default.

cpu needs to be powerfull
since you have listed 975 too then grab it
otherwise 970
else 955

a locked 960t is equals to 945, a unlocked 960t will become a 1075t and 955 can beat 1075t

At that price what @davcon have find that 965 is the best option. If not go with the cheapest 960T.
