Installed HD 6870 But No Image

So, I think I know what is the problem, but I'd like to confirm. I have a z68 board and plan to run with Virtu and VGA through the 2500k's integrated HD 3000. My HD 6870 doesn't have VGA and I don't have DVI,. When I start the computer the monitor stays black. Is this because I have my monitor connected to my IGP?

Assuming the 6870 works, if you are using it, the monitor needs to be connected to it.

Damn. Guess I'll ahve to go buy a DVI cable tomorrow.
