Just a quick one chaps im looking for a good GPU to play all modern games at ultra 1080p settings.

My question is, the system im putting the new GPU into has an X6 1100T Ocd to 3.8 ghz, Im wanting to buy the Asus Direct CU2 GTX580, now will the 1100T bottlekneck this GPU in any way ?

Your GPU will not be bottlenecked in relativity with any games out at the moment.

HOWEVER what I would say is to hold off for a moment on buying that 580 DCUII although this card is a very nice card the release of the new 7XXX series is litterally round the corner and I would strongly advise holding off until then ~a weeks time, the 7970 outperforms every single gpu card out there.

With the 7970 I still dont believe you will be overly bottlenecked by your CPU.

@sosofm bare in mind that he is using this for gaming and will very very rarely utilise 6 cores. Still however as said your still running @ 3.8ghz with a quality processor and wont have any issues.

thanks

I get above 55fps in BF3 with a 955BE on Stock settings paired with 560Ti in Sli, 1080p Ultra

So if you are looking for atleast 60fps in each game, I'd say the bottleneck is impossible, as on ultra quality the game becomes GPU bound

it will not botleneck in any way,
but for gaming phenom 2 x4 980 is a better cpu, you can overclock it to 4.5ghz

comparing less clocked version of thuban and daneb arcitectecture
as you can see, no benifit in 1100t

Simple answer, No it won't bottleneck. You'll see the Bottleneck with 2 of them in SLI. For a single GPU setup, No it's not.
