Question with powersupply

Hi, when you are buying a graphics card which requires, say 600 watts, does this get deducted from the total watts available? For example, I have a 750 watt psu, and want to get a new card which requires 600 watts. Does this mean that I only have 150 watts left over for my cpu and stuff? I'm new to this custom pc building so forgive me if I missed something.

No, the power reccomendations are for the system with the card, not just the card.
