Last response: in Motherboards

Just navigating thru Newegg's mobo site and it seems there's no way to discern whether a mobo can unlock cores or not. Im guessing its easy to figure out when u know which chipsets will allow it or not perhaps? What should I be looking for?

I assume UEFI supports core unlocking, yes? How do u guys feel about UEFI? Im on my 4th audio PC build but have been out of the loop for quite some time.

My budgets around $100 if anyone cares to make any suggestions. Trying to unlock a x2 560, see what I can get before I do a FULL upgrade. I need two PCI slots too.

Best solution

Try this:

ASRock's core unlocking feature is called UCC (Unlock CPU Core).

As far as I know, there really isn't a determining factor in the motherboard's description on Newegg. You just have to pick a board, go to manufacturer's product page, then check the manual of the mobo.
