Im looking into building a budget system, I am a little curious by the unlocked a8-3870k. I know its advantage is having decent onbaord graphics, but I already have a 6850 and I understand I wouldn't be able to take advantge of the onbard CF.
This build is mostly for use with everyday tasks and work related multimedia applications. Gaming would be my last priority. So putting gaming aside, and just focusing on the cpu performance when overclocking both, which has the better potential.
1. Gaming aside, which would have better potential when overclocked mostly for everyday single threaded use?
&
2. If again both were overclocked would the extra 2 cores be much noticeable in apps like Photoshop, AutoCad & some Mild Video Editing? (Not sure if these are multi threaded apps)
