Recommended PSU for AMD HD 6870

Hi Guys,

My config is:

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 Q6600
4 GB DDR2 RAM
Intel DG33FB Motherboard
500 GB SATA HDD
450W PSU

I am planning to add a AMD Radeon HD 6870 or 6850 to this config.

I want to know if these cards would be compatible with my Mobo
AND
will my current PSU be able to handle the graphics card?

Thanks in advance for the guidance mates!!

More about recommended 6870
  1. Budget? Preferred site for ordering?
  2. Normally that psu will be good for 6850. Ill recomend to change it.
This will be good : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027
  3. thanks for ur time folks...well if a 450w psu would suffice then i dont intend to change it..if its mandatory for me to upgrade then i would be able to shell out max 75$ for the PSU...
  4. This is a better option. Seasonic makes great stuff.

What make and model of PSU are you using? Not all are created equally.
  5. What is the combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of your 450 Watt power supply unit?

If it's 30 Amps or greater it should be able to handle the addition of a Radeon HD 6870 or Radeon HD 6850.
