Hi. I recently had to change my camera battery after almost 3 years of
use. Toward the end, the LCD monitor stopped working, and I assumed it
was because the battery was not holding a charge.
I've since replaced the battery, but the LCD monitor won't display.
Otherwise, the camera works fine.
The manual said the monitor will automatically come on when you change
to movie mode - no luck.
I can't use the menu to determine what any of my settings are, and now
the date and time are messed up (01-01-1980).
So I'm lookig for a way to maybe reset the camera and see if the
defaults will work. Any suggstions would be appreciated.

Ni cd batteries are designed to be charged and discharged 1000 times.NiMH
for 1000 times too. There's probably something wrong with the camera.
Hope this helps,
