Hello, i've recently upgraded to a new pc and my brother has been using my old one.
But it randomly shut off on him one day and i found that the power supply was bad. I replaced the power supply and now the monitor won't show anything it simply says no signal. I've tried removing the RAM and i get no beeps. Same with the GPU, no beeps. All the fans spin, the motherboard lights come on indicating the CPU is in phase 4. I can also hear the HDD's running. I've also tried different monitors, cables, outlets and a different GPU.
So after searching tom's for awhile i've come to understand that its either a bad motherboard or a bad CPU. My question being is there anyway to know for sure which it is? It would be quite a pain to buy both to find it was only the MOBO that didn't work.
Specs:
MSI 770-G45
AMD Phenom II x4 810 2.6ghz
EVGA gtx 285
G.Skill 2x2G RAM
TT 600w PSU
2x WD 500g HDD
