GSkill RipjawsZ 16GB 1600 vs GSkill RipjawsX 8GB 2133

Hi,

I am looking at 2 sets of RAM.

One is G.Skill RipjawsZ DDR3 16 GB (4 X 4 GB) 1600 with timings 9-9-9-24-2N

The other is G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) 2133 with timings 11-11-11-30-2N

The latter is cheaper... but not by much.

I am going to do mostly gaming... but there will be some programming, photoshop & a Virtual Machine.

And a dual - boot (Windows 7 & Ubuntu)

Which set should I go for?

I don't think you'll ever notice the difference between 1600 and 2133 unless you ran benchmarks. Games won't make much use of more than 8GB of ram, but Photoshop(large files) and VM's certainly will benefit from more memory. I would get additional memory even if it is a little slower.
