Hello,

I want to build a new system for around 1K that can run Diablo 3 and Battlefield 3 at maximum settings on my 50 inch TV. Can you experts tell me if this is possible at this price point? What specs do you all recommend

If you consider Max settings as Ultra for BF3 then we wouldn't be able to tell you. It is not widely known but the current beta test does not have the Ultra settings textures in it, so while you may have it set to ultra it is actually the High settings. If your TV is 1080p then I also don't think the 560ti will be able to pull Ultra at 30+(but again I can't confirm as Ultra is not in game yet).

I played Battlefield 3 beta with everything on high settings, 1680 resolution, and I was getting around 70-90 fps on average in Caspian. On rare occasions I would get to around 40-50 fps but that is only when I'm in the forest getting ripped by heavy enemy fire.

This is my system,

Asrock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
Corsair HX650 professional edition 80+ modular
Intel i5 2500k Sandy Bridge
MSI GTX 560ti Twin Frozr II 1GB GDDR5
CM 212 EVO Heatsink
Samsung spinpoint 1tb HD

So, I'm getting 70-90 fps with only a single gtx 560ti and Dice has stated that performance will increase in the retail version (optimized), and so I would say that I will get around 90-100 fps at release. So just imagine if you get two 580's for SLI, that will be overkill in my opinion but if you have the money.... go for it.

My 480 is enough for 1080p ultra as tested with the beta.
So a 570 will be.

Definitely, and the retail version will give off better performance with most of the issues (glitches, bugs, etc) fixed and optimized. A Dice developer also mentioned that the Beta client is a few months old (or was it a month old?) and that the main concern of the beta is not about how well it runs on your PC but more or so about server stability.

My 9600GT ran beta @ mid settings 1080p therefore a 260 should run it @ high and a 450 should run it at ultra :3

what is with the forums? everyone adds 18 at the end without typing it, and I can't click my messages :(

A 450 in the absolute minimum you should think about playing BF3 on. You can only get low/medium with that card. A GTX 570 is required to run BF3 on ultra at 1080p. SLI 560ti or GTX 580 would be closer to optimum for ultra.

I can tell that this is defiantly possible.
I built an amazing computer this Christmas for about 1k.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64bit
MOBO: ASUS p8p67 PRO Rev 3.1 (USB3.0/Sata 3/BlueTooth/eSata/TPU+EPU/etc)
CPU: Intel i7 2600k Quad Core @4.43Ghz Overclocked with HT
RAM: G.skill DDR3 16GB (4x4GB) @1600Mhz 9 9 9 24 timings
GPU: Gigabyte Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 1GB DDR5 @ 1020/1020 MHZ (Clock/memory) over clocked
DRIVE: corsair SSD force series 3 GT 90GB (sata III) @ 555/505 MB/s (Read/Write)
DISC DRIVE: Pioneer blue ray player (free)
PSU: Cooler Master GX-650W
Chassis: bitfenix Outlaw
Fans: 120mm LED (blue & Red)x4 (intake/exaust)

I can play Diablo III as I have beta, and I play on my 42" Samsung HD TV with max settings.
I am not sure of the FPS at the moment but i haven't noticed any issues.
If I could change one thing, I would probably get a better video card but this one is not bad. I will SLI it with another one when they drop in price and more graphics processing power is required.

If this thread is still alive, I can check out my fps and pull out my receipt if that is what you would like.

The stuff written in that link is the biggest bullsh*t I've ever heard since Justin Bieber's attempt to compare himself with the Beatles.
