Hello all,

This is my power supply:
CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W

I have this video card:
ASUS ENGTX580

If I were to do an SLI configuration with two of this card would this power supply hold up? I am also running an i7-920 which I'd like to overclock. With that in mind should I be looking at more power? And if so what would you say to go with?

Also got 4 Sata drives connected, sata DVD burner, pci sound card, and a couple case fans to get an idea of other items in my build drawing power.

I ask this because doing some searching I see people asking about GTX580 SLI requirements and people are saying go 1000w+ as I google around... Wanted to ask here first before I attempt an SLI or buy a new power supply.

Many thanks for the assistance.

Solution

I'm also a Corsair psu owner but units from PC Power & Cooling,XFX,and Enermax are very good and affordable.
I like to buy units with more power then my specs require.
So if you can afford a 900W+ unit go for it.

Any PSU you'd recommend with my specs in mind?

850w?

950w?

Perhaps the 1050 modular?

Think any of these would fit the bill? I also want to really estimate both GPU and CPU overclocking haha. Never have been good at power calculations, my least knowledgeable aspect of building.

BTW I'm just partial to Corsair because their customer service has been top notch for me in the past. If there is another brand you'd recommend feel free.
