Need recommendation for standard size gpu

Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards Need recommendation for standard size gpu

I'm looking for some recommendations for a standard size graphics card. I am currently running an HD 5770 for 3 monitors for movie watching and web browsing. I understand that a higher gpu is mostly for gaming purposes, however, since I would like to replace my current one, I'd like a better one in case I ever find a graphics intensive game I dig.

1. Looking for a single card that has 4+ monitor support. I heard people recommend the 6x series. Based on the hierarchy chart, that leaves me with 6850, 6870, 6950, 6970, 6990.

2. I need something more standard size. I've had 2 longer graphics cards that I had too many issues with so I don't want to mess with another one.

I don't care about noise or anything else. Do I have any options or should I just use a 2nd card? I'm less concerned about performance for these since they will all be upgrades so just looking for the shortest possible card to see if it will fit in my tower okay.

the one to support that many monitors and run high end games smoothly is the 6970 or the 6990. They are all pretty long; the 6950 would probably be ok too just make sure and get the 2gb version
