Dell Studio XPS 8100

I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 with:
4 P223C DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 2G, 1333, 128X64, 8, 240, 2RX8, Processor, I7-860, 2.8, 8MB, Lynnfield, 95W, B1 GT 220 1GB DDR 2 Graphics Card, 350W PSU
I'm looking at replacing existing graphics card and I'm not sure what will work and fit. my needs are in my off time I do gaming mostly WOW and FSX. The other applications are mostly Office and other basic’s email etc. I would like a HDMI port as well.
I was going to purchase a new PSU as wellCORSAIR|CMPSU-650TX 650W RT as a start , any input on this PCU would be appreciated as well.
My overall goal is to give the graphics a major boost as of right now they are very basic and sluggish at best.

  1. Thumbs ups on the PSU as for the graphic card, that would depend on your budget.
  2. Thanks for the input, budget is 250.00 max, and of course the card has to fit in the 8100 case. :)
  3. 250 what? I work in the only currency worth using and that's pounds sterling. ;)
  4. lol 250.00 US 153 quid.
  5. £150 would put you in the GTX560 (non Ti) region which would be way better than your current GT220.
  6. also you can try looking for a gtx460 (non SE) for slightly less, but they wont be as fast as the gtx560 though.

this one looks good, but i dont know if they have this in your local dealers
