I am upgrading my present system and need some guidance, here's what I've got in mind:

MOBO: Gigabyte G1 Assassin

RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) KIT Vengeance 1866MHz DDR3 CL9 Ram

GPU: Recently bought Asus GTX570 DirectCU II GDDR5 1280MB 320Bit, will go with it.

CPU: Thinking about i5 2500k, opinion/advices are welcome

PSU: Will go with my present 1000W

HDD: Got 2*1TB Western Digital, and happy

Case: Got Thermaltake Xaser VI, no need for upgrade I suppose.

The purpose of this system will be sole gaming.

I am also thinking about going SLI in a year or so, I want to build an upgradeable system.

Any recommendations are welcome, thank you in advance.

Your choice of CPU and motherboard is not compatible. G1 Assassin 1366 socket while i5-2500K is 1155 socket. If you want a G1 series mother board then G1 sniper 2 is you only choice.

Being socket 1366, I presume this board requires triple channel RAM also? And the OP has only listed DUAL CHANNEL...

Since multi threaded apps and games will increase in the future, I guess the smart thing to do is to buy a 1366 socket CPU and triple channel RAM's, instead of getting sniper 2 as it has less PCI slots, as I want to build an upgradable system. Any advices on CPU and RAM's would be appreciated.
