Radeon 5770 issues wih tv

Hello,
i have built a computer with a ati radeon hd 5770 and it works fine but the only problem is that it doesnt quite fill my plasma tv screen,on the left it has this black strip, ive tried everything that i could think of but nothing works and im getting really fristrated. so is there any way to fix this? my tv is a 26 inch magnavox tv if that matters

Have you messed about with display resolution

yes, and a correction its a 32 inch plasma

see if theres an option in the tv menu for over/under scan

there wasnt over and under scan but i got it to work correctly thanks
