yes, esata = external sata port. It uses an esata cable and not the same sata cable that you use inside the case. You wont find a case with a regular sata connector on it. It would be too easy to accidentally short the connector pins out and ruin your motherboard.

Did you not click the links I provided? All those motherboards supply an esata header (or two) on the motherbd.
