Which motherboard is best

I'm looking for a good motherboard to go in the new gaming rig I'm working on. It's going to be paired with a 7950 GPU and the i5-3570k. I would like it to be in the $130 range. Here are a few ones that I've found; but I'm not sure which one is the best. Any suggestions outside of the ones I mention are welcome.

More about which motherboard best
  1. well the gigabyte has more usb ports but i personally think the black pcb on asus mobo looks better lol
  2. I have an Asrock Extreme 4 Z77. It will let you crossfire/sli and I got it for $85 with the microcenter deal. I saw it for $115 on newegg a week or 2 ago.
  3. i got extreme 3 version and i like it too, but i think peterx is looking for micro atx mobo
  4. Well the extreme 4 is a cross between matx and atx. It is just as long as atx but not as wide.
  5. The gigabyte board can sli while that asus cannot. But there are a number of better boards at that price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293 Here's the extreme4 that was suggested.

I would suggest you make a post in the system section and filling this out so we could help pick all the parts and find better deals. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/353572-31-build-upgrade-advice

@wanderer atx and microatx standards are both 9.6" wide. The extreme 4 is thinner but not to be confused with microatx standards.
  6. Hm I had to use part of the matx layout for standoffs in my case so I just asumed matx was narrower. Thanks for clearing that up k1114.
  7. Thanks for the responses. I'll probably post the rest of my system in the system section (as suggested by k1114) in a little bit.
